I was thinking about the Smiling Man, and what we conceived his world to be like, and I realized certain characters from other webcomics sounded like they might...fit.

Tool from Zebra Girl, came to mind. Zebra Girl is of course the vastly-entertaining Keenspot strip. Tool was the main villain of a major storyline, first mentioned in this strip. We got our first glimpse of him in this strip and saw his full face in this strip. His name was curiosly suggestive, too---Tool. Besides the obvious double entendre, who was this curiously grinning maniac with computers with smiley faces a tool of? This deranged person who took over an entire dimension?

Joe England, Zebra Girl's creator, graciously agreed to let us graft Tom/Tool into the Crossoverlord schema. (He's not to blame for what we've done with him, though. So all the blame, if you dislike it, is ours.)

Also mentioned is MAGELLAN, Stephen Crowley's super-hero team book on Grapic Smash, with his permission. The story of the interdimensional Q'Arth demons invading their reality is shown at "Magellan History".
here the story of the Crossover Wars.

Now, MM's point is---they're depending on Ringo telling them the truth, and further, on his competence. Yet if he let all that happen...how dependable IS he?

Mr. Neil
The thing you have to keep in mind about Mindmistress is that, the sort of reasoning that would take the average person a minute or two to process, she could do almost instantly.

My interpretation is that Mindmistress resents being coerced into saving the multiverse. This guardian of realities contacts her out of nowhere and is like, "The multiverse is in trouble, I'm partially to blame, and by the way, you have no choice but to assist." I'm sure if any of us thought about it long enough, we'd resent having our hands forced in the matter.

...even if we agreed that it was the right thing to do.
