|On this page, we're revisiting Ringo, and we get two new cameos, Jenny Everywhere and Red Robot.|
This page was originally posted as a filler to stand in place of a late update. Now, it's been placed back where I originally intended to go, at the opening of Chapter 6. Mind you, this isn't actually part of the original treatment. This is just something that was whipped up in a hurry.
I guess I wanted to go back and explain what Ringo was doing about this business at the Armory. Surely he wasn't playing tiddlywinks with manhole covers. No, he's going to send back-up, by gosh! And who is this team leader of which Jenny speaks? Maybe we'll find out later.
There are also some practical reasons for this scene.
1. Ringo is both easy to draw and color.
2. There's no detail in his chamber to worry about.
3. The cameos were of characters I didn't need permission to use.
My rendition of The Shifter is very loosely based on the Union Of Heroes Jenny, as opposed to the cover of Chapter 6, where she more resembles the traditional Jenny.
Most people familiar with Red Robot will recognize him from Diesel Sweeties, but he is actually one of the first big-time cameo characters to appear in multiple webcomics. At one time, he was as common as Jenny Everywhere is now.
I do believe that this is the first time that Jenny Everywhere and Red Robot, two notorious cameo characters, have ever appeared in the same comic. Don't quote me on that, though.
Hey, on a side note, did you ever notice that Reg from Rubbadubbers is a Red Robot? Check it out!
